The LIT Experience

10th Grade Summer Camp Harding Township

The Leaders in Training (LIT) program at Tamarack Day Camp offers 10th graders an opportunity to take the next step in their growth — moving from being campers to becoming confident leaders. Designed for teens ages 16–17, this program helps them develop essential leadership and communication skills through hands-on experience and guided mentorship.

LIT participants work closely with counselors and staff to learn what it takes to lead a group, support younger campers, and contribute to a positive camp community. Each day includes opportunities to practice teamwork, decision-making, and problem-solving in real situations.

Located near Harding Township, NJ, Tamarack’s LIT program focuses on helping teens build responsibility, self-awareness, and initiative — qualities that serve them well not only at camp but in school, sports, and future jobs. The Windsor Mountain Leadership Experience at Tamarack Day Camp gives 16–17-year-olds an opportunity to grow through challenge, teamwork, and adventure. This six-day program is designed to help teens strengthen their leadership and problem-solving skills in a hands-on, supportive setting.

Guided by both Tamarack and Windsor Mountain staff, participants take part in a blend of leadership workshops and outdoor activities, including hiking and camping. These experiences encourage responsibility, independence, and collaboration as teens work together to meet shared goals.

Located near Harding Township, NJ, the Windsor Mountain Leadership Experience helps participants gain confidence and self-awareness by stepping outside their comfort zones. When they return, they bring home not only lasting memories but also practical skills that stand out on college applications and in future job opportunities.
