Summer camp for 7th-8th & 9th graders 13-14-15 year olds near Washington Township
Tamarack Day Camp’s Teen Travel Program is designed for 13- to 15-year-olds who are ready for more independence while still benefiting from a structured camp environment. It gives 7th, 8th, and 9th graders a balance of traditional camp activities and supervised day trips with their peer group.
This program offers teens a summer experience that keeps them active, social, and engaged. On camp days, teens follow a planned group schedule led by Tamarack Day Camp counselors. Activities may include free swim, ropes courses, sports, creative projects, and other camp-based programs that help teens stay involved while building confidence and friendships.
The Teen Travel Program is a good fit for parents who want their teens to have more variety than a standard camp day, without losing the supervision, routine, and community that make camp valuable.
Safety is a key part of the Teen Travel Program, especially when teens are away from camp. During off-site trips, participants follow Tamarack Day Camp’s Travel Protocols so they understand how to stay with the group, follow staff directions, and behave responsibly in public spaces.
This gives parents added confidence when choosing a travel-based camp experience for their teens. Each Teen Travel participant and their parents are required to sign the Teen Travel Behavior Contract, which outlines the expectations for behavior during trips and camp activities.
The program is overseen by a Division Head who manages the teen experience both at camp and while traveling. Tamarack Day Camp’s Teen Staff is trained to supervise campers off-site, guide positive decision-making, and support the needs of 13- to 15-year-olds.
