At Tamarack Day Camp, senior campers, ages 10-12, enjoy a summer full of fun with more advanced Choice activities and greater independence. One of the standout experiences for seniors is Senior Late Nights. These special evenings offer extended camp hours, allowing campers to enjoy a special dinner, extra swim time, fun games, and unique events. The night wraps up with a relaxing twilight campfire and classic S’mores. Located near Cedar Grove, Tamarack provides seniors with the chance to make lasting memories while exploring new experiences in a safe and supportive environment.
Senior Athletics
At Tamarack Day Camp, senior campers, ages 10-12, have the opportunity to explore a wide range of sports and outdoor activities. Each week, campers participate in sports like soccer, football, lacrosse, archery, basketball, hockey, skateboarding, mountain biking, and more, all on our large, well-equipped fields. Our experienced athletic specialists lead these sessions, focusing on teaching new skills and organizing games that help reinforce those skills.
We believe in providing individualized coaching so that every camper, no matter their skill level, can improve and enjoy the activities. Whether a camper is just learning to ride a bike or working on advanced techniques in a sport, our Tamarack Specialists are there to guide them every step of the way. What makes our program unique is that our counselors actively join in all activities, working alongside the specialists to create a fun and supportive atmosphere.

Creative Arts
At Tamarack Day Camp, our Arts Studios offer senior campers, ages 10-12, a wide range of creative activities to explore throughout the summer. Located near Cedar Grove, our air-conditioned classrooms provide a comfortable space for campers to dive into arts such as Ceramics, Music, Cooking, Drama, Nature Exploration, Dance, Digital Photography, Jewelry Making, and Computers, with new activities introduced weekly.
A standout experience for senior girls is our annual Dance and Drama Production, held in the sixth week of camp at a local venue. Here, campers showcase the dance routines they’ve worked on throughout the summer, accompanied by professional sound and lighting, making for an exciting and memorable performance.
With expert instruction and the chance to try a variety of creative pursuits, Tamarack’s Arts Studios give campers the opportunity to express themselves, develop new skills, and build confidence in a fun, supportive environment.
Learn to Swim
Tamarack Day Camp’s Learn to Swim Program is a key highlight for senior campers, ages 10-12, from Cedar Grove and the surrounding areas. Our state-of-the-art aquatic facility, featuring eight 25-meter lanes, provides the perfect setting for developing swimming skills.
Each morning, senior campers participate in a 40-minute swim lesson, led by certified instructors and supported by group counselors. We focus on skill-based instruction, ensuring that each swimmer is appropriately challenged, whether they are just learning the basics or refining advanced techniques. Our instructors receive annual training based on American Red Cross standards and bring over 25 years of experience teaching children how to swim.
In the afternoons, seniors return for Free Swim sessions, where they can practice what they’ve learned and enjoy more time in the pool. This combination of structured lessons and free swim time makes swimming a fun and rewarding part of the Tamarack experience.
Ropes Courses
At Tamarack Day Camp, senior campers, ages 10-12, from Cedar Grove and nearby areas love our Ropes Course, which features a variety of exciting activities. Campers can zip across the 200’ Zipline, climb the Vertical and Horizontal Climbing Walls, and soar on the Giant Swing. For those looking for an even greater challenge, our High Ropes course offers more high-flying adventures.
Senior campers can also join our Repel School, a Tamarack tradition, to learn advanced climbing and rappelling techniques. Safety is our top priority, and our ropes courses are thoroughly inspected each season by the same company that built them. Additionally, our certified ropes instructors conduct daily safety checks and lead campers through the activities, ensuring a fun yet secure experience.
Choice
At Tamarack Day Camp, senior campers, ages 10-12, from Cedar Grove and surrounding areas, get to choose their daily activities each week, offering a variety of sports and creative options. This flexibility ensures a fun and dynamic experience, with new choices introduced regularly. Seniors also have the opportunity to participate in the annual Drama Production or take part in an exclusive Dance routine. The performances by senior campers in both Drama and Dance are always a highlight, showcasing their talent and adding excitement to the event.
Social Development
